If you’re in Chicago, then you witnessed the extremely thick fog that came upon us last night. It was quite thick and eerie. On twitter, people were saying that it reminded them of “Thriller”, “Sweeney Todd”…you name it. It was something. I had plans, but after, I ran home to grab my camera to see if i could snag a shot. Here is my tale:

It was a dark, cold and rainy night and the silence was upon me as thick as the fog that surrounded me. As I clutched my camera though my rain soaked gloves, I could feel their presence among me. The wind grew quicker. The rain more icy. I paused to listen…nothing. As I trekked further into the mist, I could feel the soft earth beneath me sink deeper. Right then I notice something dart away just beyond my line of sight! I turn to look only to find a rabbit…then another…. “Pfft!”, I thought to myself. “I’ve been out here too long.” Then…just as I was making my decision to head home…I see bright lights. But no sounds, just lights. Just bright lights! So I braced myself behind a concrete wall…I had my trusty camera with me so I could get evidence of what I was about to witness, then it happened… I saw them. I blew warm air into my icy, wet glove, steadied myself, then took the shot. They-are-among-us.

Happy New Year! 2010 is here!

Two weeks ago, I was in the Dominican Republic enjoying sun, fun and more sun! Sitting on the beach, Christmas day, gave me plenty of relaxing thoughts but I couldn’t help to think about my next moves as they related to photography.

DR reminded me to enjoy the moments–large, small, short or long. Simply because it’s those moments, just like in this photo, that reminds me of how content i was as i felt the soft sand under my feet and salty waves crashing up to my waist.

Take in this photo and make 2010 your year to enjoy the moments.
